Events

There is a wide range of festivals and events: from fruit tree blossom to harvest, there are many farm and cider festivals along the route, cider and fine brandy tastings, guided (gourmet) hikes, interesting lectures on fruit growing and much more.

One highlight is the Merzig Cider Festival, which is known beyond the state and national borders and attracts thousands of visitors to the “cider metropolis” of Merzig every year on the first Saturday in October. It embodies the cider tradition like no other festival and showcases the whole variety of cider products. The Trier Viezfest takes place every two years. Then, for one day, the cathedral courtyard is transformed into the largest and most rustic ‘Viezgarten’ in the world.
