Dear cider lovers, cider, must, sidra, Äppelwoi – apple wine has many names. No matter where it is drunk, it puts people in a good mood and always conveys a unique sense of home.
Here in the Trier region, sour apple wine, or Viez, is our very own national drink and has now achieved cult status – so much so that many dedicated Viez producers, including us, the Trier Viez Brotherhood, are focusing our attention on preserving and promoting it.
The primary goal of our brotherhood is to preserve and expand the traditional status of Viez, its production methods, the customs surrounding Viez and the associated Viezporz for the general public.
We are very happy to have entered into excellent collaborations and partnerships with many Viez producers, the Viezstraße e.V. association, numerous tourist offices and the people who are committed to Viez.
The connection between the Roman city and the Viezstraße is a great tourist asset for the entire region. Join us in enjoying the diversity of this region along the eventful Viezstraße!
